Equimpulse | The tensegral training system for tensegral horse training.
„We believe that true strength begins with kindness. That is why Equimpulse is based on ethical training: it is an invitation for the horse to rediscover its natural symmetry and balance – completely without coercion or mechanical restriction.“ Team Equimpulse | The tensegral training system for horses
Equimpulse | The Tensegral Training System is an intelligent concept for muscle building and rehabilitation. It emerged from the close collaboration between successful rider Denise and international equine therapist Adrienne. The development was inspired by Denise's mare Rosie, who got stuck after surgery and a long period of box rest. We wanted to create a solution that helps horses feel their bodies positively again.
The centerpiece is the special, corset-like body shapewear. It is considered as Custom-made from exclusive orthopedic elastic material manufactured and provides support and stability precisely where your horse needs it. It is robust enough to provide genuine support, yet elastic enough to maintain full freedom of movement and zest for life.

How does the Equimpulse training band work?
How does Equimpulse support tensegral horse training?
Equimpulse is a comprehensive system that improves your horse's performance and well-being where movement originates. It is based on the principle of Biotensegrity – the functional interplay of muscles, fascia, and skeleton into a stable unit.
The centerpiece is the custom-made orthopedic body belts, which is held perfectly in place by special straps. It specifically targets reflex points that naturally „wake up“ the muscles. This dual effect stabilizes the deep supporting muscles while simultaneously giving the large movement muscles a framework against which they can work healthily.
Promotion of correct posture
Muscle wasting is unfortunately quickly an issue after injuries. Our custom-made body band helps your horse—especially during stall rest—maintain a healthy posture and keep the body frame stable, making retraining easier.
Restoration of muscle function and strength building
Whether in the box or during training: EquImpulse encourages the horse to use its muscles symmetrically. The orthopedically inspired band system – comparable to functional support tapes in human medicine – can relieve areas that are currently less stable, such as joints, the back, or weaker muscle chains. Due to the slight tension of the elastic material, the horse is encouraged to use its muscles more consciously. In this way, natural carrying capacity, stability, and stamina can be rebuilt step by step.
Body awareness, coordination, and sure-footedness
By touching the reflex zones, essential information is sent directly to the brain via a „feedback loop.“ This strengthens the communication between the head and body—the core of our training. Your horse becomes more aware of its feet, gains sure-footedness, and moves with significantly greater awareness.
Equimpulse also provides essential support and controlled resistance. Your horse benefits comprehensively: for superior quality of movement and a reduced risk of stumbling or incorrect loading.
Support of balance and load-bearing capacity
The elastic tension naturally lifts your horse's ribcage. This frees the shoulders, brings the neck and head into a better position, and activates the hindquarters. And most importantly: there is no connection to the horse's mouth. We rely on honest balance instead of mechanical coercion.
Promotion of Fascial Health & Tensegrity
The strap system gives the horse's body gentle feedback on movement and posture. This allows the fascial network to be activated. The training supports the natural Tensegrity architecture of the body – the finely tuned interplay of tension and stability throughout the entire musculoskeletal system. This sustainably improves elasticity, force transmission, and the quality of movement as the body learns to distribute forces globally.
Somatic Regulation & Well-being
Similar to a massage, manual therapy, or osteopathy, EquImpulse helps the horse feel ‚safer‘ in its own body. The fine tactile guidance of our custom-made system supports the horse in finding a state of physical and mental balance. This leads to a noticeable sense of relaxation as the horse gains a clearer awareness of its own posture and structural stability.
Versatility in every situation
The system is designed to integrate seamlessly into your daily routine. Whether for activation in the stall, as a companion during ground work, on the lunge line, or for support while riding, Equimpulse offers consistent support for muscle development and performance training.
Material & Customization
Material & Customization
Equimpulse is made from custom-made, orthopedically elastic high-performance materials made, which are known for their durability and skin-friendliness. High-quality hook-and-loop fasteners ensure a secure fit during every phase of movement.
The system grows with your goals:
- Anatomical precision: The corset-like element is individually adjusted and takes the current muscle condition and physique into account.
- Individual force vectors: The training stimulus can be precisely tailored to the respective training goal by adjusting the tension.
- Modular positioning: The bands can be precisely placed to support specific biomechanical weaknesses or to gently correct body posture.
FAQ – Equimpulse: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make sure I order the right size?
We recommend measuring your horse's height at the withers before choosing a size. Our sizes overlap to some extent. If your horse is at the upper end of a size range, has a broader build, is very muscular, or is generally sturdy, you should choose the larger size.
If your horse is rather delicate, slenderly built, or at the lower end of the size range, the smaller size is usually the better choice.
My horse has kissing spines. Can the band help?
Yes, absolutely. The Equimpulse Body Band is made of a special orthopedic material, similar to what is used in human medicine and physiotherapy. It provides targeted support while still allowing movement. This activates multiple muscle groups and promotes stability.
This is how the band helps your horse adopt a correct posture and can help prevent further spinal problems. Especially during lunging, it promotes a favorable head and neck position, thereby supporting the development of the deep core muscles – an important component of treatment for kissing spines. In addition, we recommend regular physiotherapeutic support for this diagnosis.
Can Equimpulse help my horse with back fatigue or topline syndrome?
Yes, absolutely. The band is designed to improve posture – regardless of the horse's age. Older horses that are prone to multiple issues or have difficulty maintaining muscle can also benefit from it.
After the initial adjustment, you can gradually tighten the band and use it for additional support, for example when leading or in the stable. Horses prone to suspensory desmitis also benefit when being lunged or ridden, as the band supports biomechanical movement.
My horse has PSSM. Is the tape helpful?
With PSSM, special care is important. Since PSSM affects muscle function and the removal of metabolic waste products, we recommend a free consultation so that we can support you individually with optimal use.
Please note: The band should be used for a shorter duration in horses with PSSM than in horses without PSSM. In addition, a mandatory 15-minute cool-down phase at a walk is necessary after each session to promote blood circulation and support the removal of metabolic waste products.
How can Equimpulse help my young, unridden horse?
Equimpulse helps young horses develop correct movement patterns right from the start. Even though many owners do not suspect any problems in young horses, muscles are still building during growth and development.
We recommend using the band for active gymnastics, lunging, or groundwork up to three times a week to promote balance and prevent compensatory problems.
My horse is hypermobile. Does the tape help?
Yes. Building core muscles is important for all horses, but especially for hypermobile horses. The band can be used three to five times a week for a period of at least three months – including while riding.
It improves safety and balance and supports healthy muscle development with minimal rider interference.
Is Equimpulser useful for a horse with laminitis?
Yes. Horses with laminitis frequently adopt a pain-relieving posture, shifting their weight away from the forelimbs. Wearing the band for 30 minutes to an hour, three to five times a week, can help support posture and correct uneven weight distribution.
However, it is important not to use the tape for too long and to continue having your horse monitored and treated by a veterinarian.
My horse is older, has osteoarthritis, and has limited mobility. Is it worth using the band?
Yes, absolutely. Horses with limited mobility often benefit significantly from the band – even during short walks. Since older horses tire more quickly, you should start with short sessions initially and slowly increase the workload.
For horses on stall rest, you will also find safe exercises on our YouTube channel that you can use to further support the effects of Equimpulse. We also offer a free consultation so we can individually support you in achieving optimal application.
How can Equimpulse improve my horse's performance even though it is already doing well?
After almost 30 years of experience, I have rarely encountered a horse where there isn't still something that could be optimized. Fitness, muscle function, and movement patterns can almost always be improved.
We recommend using Equimpulse two to three times a week during longeing, ground work, and under saddle to provide additional support and further develop training.
My horse has had surgery. When should I start using Equimpulse again?
Please speak with your veterinarian to plan the return to exercise after surgery. In the first phase, lymphatic drainage and pain management should be the focus. However, modern physical therapy approaches show that early, controlled movement building can promote long-term recovery.
Once the wounds have healed, you can use Equimpulse during short walks or for up to two hours daily in the stall. You can also find neuromuscular exercises for rehabilitation on our YouTube channel. If you wish, we are also happy to advise you personally.
We always recommend close collaboration between you, your therapist, your veterinarian, and – if necessary – your farrier.
For which horses is Equimpulse particularly suitable?
Equimpulse can be used to support, among other things, the following issues:
- Kissing Spines
- trapezius deficiency / top-line syndrome
- PSSM
- Hypermobile Horses
- young, unridden horses
- Horses with laminitis
- older horses with osteoarthritis or limited mobility
