„We believe that true strength begins with kindness. That is why our Equimpulse Tensegral Training System is based on an ethical training approach. It invites the horse to rediscover its natural balance and symmetry – without pressure and without mechanical restrictions.“
Team Equimpulse
Movement redefined – Scientifically grounded.
The Equimpulse Tensegral Training System stands for orthopedic excellence in equestrian sports and serves as the bridge between classical riding theory and state-of-the-art sports physiotherapy. Equimpulse is a specialized holistic training and rehabilitation system for horses, made from orthopedic bands manufactured exclusively for us, based on proven principles of human rehabilitation. It is not a conventional training device, but rather offers tactile guidance that activates the musculature instead of blocking it through its intelligent feedback tool—similar to the effect of manual therapy or osteopathy.
The Equimpulse Tensegrales training system supports neuromuscular networking (biotensegrity) and helps the horse keep its center of gravity stable in every phase of movement. By combining physiotherapy and neuromuscular stimulation, EquImpulse helps the horse independently find its natural posture and centric integrity (core/trunk stability).
An ethical way to more strength and symmetry that starts where movement is created:
in the mind and in the muscles. For riders who refuse to compromise between performance and ethics.
The Story - A Vision for a Better Quality of Life
Sometimes you have to rewrite the rules of rehabilitation to experience a miracle.
The story of Equimpulse began with a mare named Rosie, whose future was uncertain after a serious illness and surgery. When conventional methods reached their limits, we looked for a way to gently reactivate her body without
overwhelm.
We wanted to create a system that provides security where the body fails and sets impulses where healing stalls. Through patience and targeted orthopedic support, we succeeded in rebuilding Rosie's body awareness.
The collaboration between equestrian expertise and international therapy resulted in a solution that helped Rosie regain her balance and strength step by step.
Her journey from utter helplessness back into the saddle was the ultimate test of our vision.
What began as a ray of hope for a single horse has now fundamentally transformed the training and rehabilitation of many horses.

Why Choose the Equimpulse Tensegral Training System?
Because correction must be gentle and sustainable. The Equimpulse Tensegral Training System impresses with its exceptional versatility: it supports young horses in their initial search for balance just as effectively as it helps sport horses promote readiness for collection and willingness to perform.
Many riders are familiar with this problem: Despite intensive training, the horse leans on its forehand, its back doesn’t flex, and it lacks suppleness. Often, the causes lie deep within the connective tissue and musculature. Tensegrity horse training addresses this very issue: By specifically promoting a physiologically correct posture, it reduces improper weight distribution and strengthens the resilience of the entire musculoskeletal system.
The Equimpulse system supports the anatomically sound development of targeted musculature and promotes natural self-carriage and stability. It is the ideal, ethical, and non-restrictive training tool for a variety of musculoskeletal challenges — from young horses to sport horses.
Benefits at a Glance:
- Gentle, sustainable posture correction
– Reducing incorrect weight distribution and promoting a relaxed posture
– Targeted muscle building and stabilization of the musculoskeletal system
– Suitable for all disciplines and phases of life
- Ethical, non-restrictive training
The Equimpulse Tensegrales Training System lays the foundation for long-term health, performance, and proper collection—for a high-performing, resilient, and balanced horse.
The 7 Pillars of Movement Architecture
Geometric Postural Alignment
True posture isn't forced; it's discovered. EquImpulse uses a customizable body strap to promote proper posture, helping your horse achieve or restore an anatomically correct form—especially during critical phases such as the
Box rest. By providing a stable structural framework, we prevent the „global collapse“ of the system and support the natural, upright self-carriage. Through this form of tactile guidance, the horse independently finds its way back to symmetry.
Myofascial Muscle Recovery & Muscle Building
Muscle wasting after injuries is a rapid process, which is why the restoration of muscle function and targeted strength training go hand in hand. The customized orthopedic elastic material from EquImpulse offers a combination of stability through
Support and controlled resistance. While the support function stabilizes joints and weaker areas (deep muscles), the resistance during movement promotes accelerated gains in strength and mass in the superficial muscles.
The system thus enables highly efficient reconditioning without incorrect loading.
Physical Awareness & Coordination
Through a neuronal „feedback loop,“ EquImpulse stimulates specific reflex zones on your horse's body. This constant somatic dialog leads to the targeted activation of those fascial lines responsible for precise coordination and harmonious movement sequences. It is not just about pure movement; it is about sharpening body awareness so that the horse focuses its motor skills more efficiently and optimally utilizes the biomechanical chains of the entire body.
Balance & Dynamic Load Capacity
True carrying capacity is the basis for long-term health, and supporting balance and carrying capacity is a core goal of EquImpulse. Through the interaction of the body band with the belly straps, the thoracic sling is specifically activated, while the impulse from behind the
stimulates hindquarter activity. This combined input leads to a free shoulder and significantly more propulsion. The result is a horse that carries itself with true carrying capacity and whose overall movement quality is enhanced by the optimized thrust from the hindquarters.
Fascia Health & Tensegrity
We view the horse as a highly complex 3D network of tension and stability to promote fascial health and tensegrity. EquImpulse specifically stimulates the fascial network and supports the body's natural tensegrity. Through this perfect
interaction improves elasticity and the ability to store kinetic energy. This makes movement sequences more fluid, protects the joints, and ensures a sustained, springy gait quality.
Somatic Regulation & Well-being
The constant tactile presence of the band offers the horse a deep neurological security to achieve a calming, regulating effect, comparable to the stabilizing holds in manual therapy or osteopathy. EquImpulse helps the horse to its
finding physical and mental balance, which is particularly valuable for neurological challenges such as shivering or ataxia. Promoting inner calm and improved overall well-being creates the foundation for a horse that is at peace within itself
and shows increased relaxation.
Versatile resistance training
From box rest to training at the highest competitive level, versatile resistance training with EquImpulse is an asset for every discipline. It can be used during rehabilitation to maintain muscle tone, in groundwork to activate functional chains, and under saddle to refine movement geometry. It is an evolving system that covers your horse's individual needs at every stage of life and performance level.
FAQ – Equimpulse: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make sure I order the right size?
We recommend measuring your horse's height at the withers before choosing a size. Our sizes overlap to some extent. If your horse is at the upper end of a size range, has a broader build, is very muscular, or is generally sturdy, you should choose the larger size.
If your horse is rather delicate, slenderly built, or at the lower end of the size range, the smaller size is usually the better choice.
My horse has kissing spines. Can the band help?
Yes, absolutely. The Equimpulse Body Band is made of a special orthopedic material, similar to what is used in human medicine and physiotherapy. It provides targeted support while still allowing movement. This activates multiple muscle groups and promotes stability.
This is how the band helps your horse adopt a correct posture and can help prevent further spinal problems. Especially during lunging, it promotes a favorable head and neck position, thereby supporting the development of the deep core muscles – an important component of treatment for kissing spines. In addition, we recommend regular physiotherapeutic support for this diagnosis.
Can Equimpulse help my horse with back fatigue or topline syndrome?
Yes, absolutely. The band is designed to improve posture – regardless of the horse's age. Older horses that are prone to multiple issues or have difficulty maintaining muscle can also benefit from it.
After the initial adjustment, you can gradually tighten the band and use it for additional support, for example when leading or in the stable. Horses prone to suspensory desmitis also benefit when being lunged or ridden, as the band supports biomechanical movement.
My horse has PSSM. Is the tape helpful?
With PSSM, special care is important. Since PSSM affects muscle function and the removal of metabolic waste products, we recommend a free consultation so that we can support you individually with optimal use.
Please note: The band should be used for a shorter duration in horses with PSSM than in horses without PSSM. In addition, a mandatory 15-minute cool-down phase at a walk is necessary after each session to promote blood circulation and support the removal of metabolic waste products.
How can Equimpulse help my young, unridden horse?
Equimpulse helps young horses develop correct movement patterns right from the start. Even though many owners do not suspect any problems in young horses, muscles are still building during growth and development.
We recommend using the band for active gymnastics, lunging, or groundwork up to three times a week to promote balance and prevent compensatory problems.
My horse is hypermobile. Does the tape help?
Yes. Building core muscles is important for all horses, but especially for hypermobile horses. The band can be used three to five times a week for a period of at least three months – including while riding.
It improves safety and balance and supports healthy muscle development with minimal rider interference.
Is Equimpulser useful for a horse with laminitis?
Yes. Horses with laminitis frequently adopt a pain-relieving posture, shifting their weight away from the forelimbs. Wearing the band for 30 minutes to an hour, three to five times a week, can help support posture and correct uneven weight distribution.
However, it is important not to use the tape for too long and to continue having your horse monitored and treated by a veterinarian.
My horse is older, has osteoarthritis, and has limited mobility. Is it worth using the band?
Yes, absolutely. Horses with limited mobility often benefit significantly from the band – even during short walks. Since older horses tire more quickly, you should start with short sessions initially and slowly increase the workload.
For horses on stall rest, you will also find safe exercises on our YouTube channel that you can use to further support the effects of Equimpulse. We also offer a free consultation so we can individually support you in achieving optimal application.
How can Equimpulse improve my horse's performance even though it is already doing well?
After almost 30 years of experience, I have rarely encountered a horse where there isn't still something that could be optimized. Fitness, muscle function, and movement patterns can almost always be improved.
We recommend using Equimpulse two to three times a week during longeing, ground work, and under saddle to provide additional support and further develop training.
My horse has had surgery. When should I start using Equimpulse again?
Please speak with your veterinarian to plan the return to exercise after surgery. In the first phase, lymphatic drainage and pain management should be the focus. However, modern physical therapy approaches show that early, controlled movement building can promote long-term recovery.
Once the wounds have healed, you can use Equimpulse during short walks or for up to two hours daily in the stall. You can also find neuromuscular exercises for rehabilitation on our YouTube channel. If you wish, we are also happy to advise you personally.
We always recommend close collaboration between you, your therapist, your veterinarian, and – if necessary – your farrier.
For which horses is Equimpulse particularly suitable?
Equimpulse can be used to support, among other things, the following issues:
- Kissing Spines
- trapezius deficiency / top-line syndrome
- PSSM
- Hypermobile Horses
- young, unridden horses
- Horses with laminitis
- older horses with osteoarthritis or limited mobility
